Technical Information..
Wood Grinding is affected by a number of parameters and each grinder or more specifically grindstone should be matched to the wood species being used. In addition the grinding pressure and temperature needs to be controlled. The pressure between the log and grindstone surface affects the grinding performance and a higher pressure also results in a generation of heat energy. This temperature increase is controlled by the addition of water and consequently the incoming water flow rate, temperature and pressure all influence this effect. The surface conditions of the stone itself also contribute to the grinding effect and temperature and so these conditions need to be balanced. The incoming raw material conditions will also influence the grinding effectiveness but it is difficult to control this parameter.
